How the replenishment works for Display or Prepack articles for using stock articles as components

I have created a Display/prepack or sales set article and maintained the stock articles as components and which are replenished before (Here I am not using any variants from generic article) and maintained RP type, safety stock and forecast parameters, I created STO through WRP1 and performed goods receipt.

How the consumption and forecast values would be updated for Display or prepack articles??, because we are purchasing Display/Pre pack articles and selling only components to stores. What is the process for replenishment if I use stock articles as components for Display or prepack?

Hi...  I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve but...

SAP advises that a prepack article cannot be replenished based on its components (variant articles) if they are listed individually, this means that the component articles can be replenished and/or purchased in their own right.  The Standard SAP system is set up this way i.e. the variants are listing individually.

This setting is held in the Listing conditions Table WLK1 and field STRLI (List as a component part).

SAP has provided a BAdi that can be applied to the system so that when the Prepack Article is listed, during creation, it will list the variant articles as components of it thus allowing the prepack article to be replenished based on the replenishment settings of its components.

Also all information to this point indicates that it would not be possible to replenish the prepack article as well as having the option to replenish the components individually as variant articles.

Here my client wants to introduce display/prepack concept and requirement is to purchase the stock articles as pack and when selling to store we want to sell only components. when we sell components, components consumption and forecast values are updating, however we are not selling any prepack item so prepack/display article consumption and forecast values are not updating. How display/prepack is suitable for replenishment?

is there any other way or work around possible for this requirement??

P.S yes table WLK1 n field STRLI are updating when i perform listing together for display/prepack and its components.

Hi

You need to discuss the requirements with the business. 

Traditionally Variant articles are listed as part of creation as individuals, this means that once sold in Stores they can be replenished individually (either using RP and manually set target stock levels or RF and Forecasting). If the Variant articles that make up the Prepack Article are to be replenished individually then you cannot replenish the PrePack Article based on sales of the component (variant) articles.

If the variant articles are never to be replenished individually you can set the system so that the variants are listed as part of the prepack creation and then when the variants are sold certain logic can apply and the prepack itself is replenished.

But you have to have this worked out in advance and it can only be one way or another. 

Please note I haven't actually done this as the client did not always want to replenish the PrePack article so they opted to only purchase the Prepack Article and push to Stores (via Allocation Tables) and then replenish the variant articles individually based on Store sales.

Use

LISTING_PREPACK_COMP

You can use this BAdI to control whether listing conditions are generated for the components of the prepack in the listing for a prepack material. This is not the case in the standard system.

If you require the listing conditions for the components, you must create an implementation for method LISTING_PREPACK_COMP. The method contains the CHANGING parameter PREPACK_AS_SINGLE_ARTICLE. The default value for the parameter is 'X'. To generate listing conditions for the components, you must implement the following code:

• CLEAR PREPACK_AS_SINGLE_ARTICLE
