Time Recording and Calculations in Payroll

Hi All

Can any one explain to me the full process of Time Evaluation?
Is it necessary to do before running Payroll? And How to do the time
calculations in Payroll without Time Evaluation?

What is the difference to calculate overtime through IT2005
and IT2010?

How do we calculate or considerate time recordings into Payroll
which was captured through ESS and MSS?

Thanks & Regards

Srinivas

The Time Evaluation process utilizes a schema which provides step by step functionality to incorporate your own business rules into the process. The delivered process generally proceeds this way:

  • Provide Data whuch read the data provided by your ees (IT2001, 2002 etc)
  • Check the Data for Errors (clock in w/out clock out, no time provided etc)
  • Classifies the time according to your business needs (Planned vs. Actuals, Overtime)
  • Selects and Generates Time Wage types according to your business rules(These will be passed to SAP Payroll for valuation)
  • Compensate Overtime Wage Types (Comp Time off accounts can be built etc)
  • Manage Time Accounts (Quota Accrual, Time Accounts built, limits checked etc.)

Payroll does have the ability to generate Time WTs in subschema TC00 which is in xT00, however the decision to do this thru time evaluation would be because there is a business need for more comprehensive Time WT selection, Quota Accrual, time compliance than payroll is able to provide.

Infotype 2005 would be for direct entry of Overtime and IT2010 can be used to enter hours or earnings (day by day) and can receive time from external sources like Time clock interfaces. Of course this information can be captured in ESS/MSS as well or thru CATS (Cross Application Time sheet).
