Changing Account names BOXI 3.1

Former Member

I have a bout 300 concurrent accounts that I need to change the names for (example from w12345 to JSmith). The users need to keep their personal folders so I don't want to create new accounts and disable the old. Other than going into each account individually and changing the name in the CMC, is there a way to use the import wizard or some other way to change the account names? Thank you.

Jennifer,

Are you using a 3rd party Authentication integration like Windows AD &/or SAP ?   In that case you need to update the information in the source system and then re-sync users.

Please provide example of current format?

Thanks Kindly,

No Third party integration just strictly Enterprise Log ins no aliases. I am not comfortable using SDK because they have not provided a test system for me to test and I don't have true downtime to deploy the code since my users are all over the world.

Jennifer,

If SDK is out of question then in that case your only options would be to manually change/update the users one-by-one.   This way the Personal Folder and InBox will NOT be effected in any way.

Hi Jennifer,

To do this you need to develop a piece of SDK code by comparing either SI_ID or CU_ID of the user.  Alternatively you can request in SDK Sub Space of this space (http://scn.sap.com/community/bi-platform) for the required code.

Hi

if you want to change First and Last name of userids, you can do it with LSMW or SM35 or abap

Based on the answer there are a lot of nice threads

Let me know if you need me

BusinessObjects doesn't use those, I am not working in r/3 or GRC. I don't want to change the user's name I want to change their enterprise log in name.
