I am working for a requriement where Production and Planning people want to use PP-PI so they use Process order , but for Controlling people they are not interested in Order level Cost follow up. So trying to find a solution of Cost by Period using Process orders (PP-PI). As i understand i can use functionality of Cost object Hierarchy functionality where we can use Cost object for cost follow up. To have this running ,i think one of the pre-requisites is that i have to link Material number to cost object in KKP2 or KKPHIE. But my main concern is that in real life we have huge lot of material , practically this is not possible to keep assigning material number whenever Master data team create a new Material number. So my question is that , is it a way to have these assignment at higher level like Profit center Material Group or any other fields?
Can you please share you experience on this?
