We are moving from former budgeting to BCS.

1) If we donot do any migration what would be the impact. Please specify clearly those areas and also reports were it will be effected.

2) Will the Report with transaction code FMAVCR01 Display annual values will display old values of former budgeting together with the new values of BCS in the reports.

    Hi,

    1) Migration brings budgetary data from former budgeting to BCS. There is no impact on actual/commitments data. Theoretically, migration is not necessary. However, you won't have the information in the reports. Also, if you do the transition in the middle of the year, it will be tricky, though possible, to skip the migration phase.

    2) Only if you perform the migration. FMAVCR01, like all other BCS reports, access only tables relevant for BCS.

    Regards,

    Eli

    Hi Eli,

As informed, we are planning to move to BCS without migration.

On the Go-Live day, we will take the values of unutilised budgets. Then we will make a budget entry for the same amounts after Go-Live.

There could be few PO's and PR's and Invoices which would have been posted.

    1) If we close the old PR's of former budgeting, will the budgets get added to the budget in BCS?

    2) For an existing PO of former budgeting, if we do an invoice, ideally budgets should not be consumed as the same would have neen consumed in former budgeting. Will it consume the budgets now.

    Regards,

    Rajesh

    • Hi,

As I mentioned before, moving to BCS does not concern the activity of actual/commitments registry of budget consumption. It's only about the registry of budgetary documents in new tables, namely FMBH, FMBL, FMBDT, etc. Please, read documentation about BCS migration which is available in SPRO and/or help.sap.com should you have further questions.

      Regards,

      Eli
