Regarding Excel Merge and Line feed

Hi Guys ,

I have made a report where the output can be extracted to excel using OLE.

Problem is report will leads to Time-out as there are huge no.of records are processing into it so i have to go for a background job.

I came to know OLE wont help me in Background job for extracting the report as per the desired formatted output like merging and providing line feed (Alt+ ENTER) in a cell.

Is there any other way is possible to acheive this format ouput in excel via the background job.

kindly suggest me on this.

Thanks in advance

    Hii Gurumoorthy,

its correct that ole can't be used in background mode.

try using the following fms for desired output:

RSPO_DOWNLOAD_SPOOLJOB - it will download the file in the spool

and thereafter you can display the excel output using FTBU_START_EXCEL.

You can alternatively make use of a class ABAP2XLSX which can be run in background too.

if you want the output in formatted way,you can make use of html fms like:

    www_itab_to_html_headers which populates column headings

    www_itab_to_html_layout which populates column properties

and then to prepare the html from internal table using the fm www_itab_to_html

    and then use gui_download .

other than the above SAP_CONVERT_TO_XLS_FORMAT or open_dataset method.

    Hope it helps!!!!

    Hi Alora ,

Thanks for the Idea, I have done a zdevelopment using spool request number genrated and created a dynamic work area to get those values and mapped with OLE codes. it was successful.

    Thank you .
