material ledger purchase and sales

hi,

for MM goods receipt, i able to see that the system refer to material ledger cost maintained in material master accounting view.

for SD vprs condition type, system does not refer to material ledger cost but base on exchange rate ob08.

may i know if material ledger is only applicable to MM component/raw materials but not applicable to SD finished goods?

Hi SAM.

Material Ledger is applicable for RAW, SEMI and Finished products.

+ When you do GR for a PurOrder the system post the provision BSX at the MM Material Master Cost and the difference in operation PRD.

+ When you do sales, the condition in SD is customized, so most of the time is picked from MM Material Master if you are in a MTS but you can customize your rules (also with abap code), a tipical example if you work with SD BOM that cost based on BOM explosion. The rules are also different if you work With MTO, subcontracting, and so on.

The topic is huge, i recomend review with your SD consultant (or learn yourself SD LOL)

All material movements if the plant activated for Material Ledger the system generates ML Document.It is plant specific.
