Hi Experts ,

Whn  I try to transport BPS layouts from DEV --> QA it is not getting overwritten with new changes . I have made changes at UPX_MNTN level , changed some decimals for KF  but the same changes are not being transported to QA where as transport to QA showing successful.

I am Using  UPS_TRANSPORT_BPS_ALL but still having the issue, using this I have collected Planning Area,Level,Layout but layout is the issue which not getting over-written with new changes all other objects are ok.

Any idea .you answer will be of great help

Regards

Prasad

Hi Prasad,

BPS planning layouts have a decimal setting; this setting will be transported with UPS_TRANSPORT_BPS_ALL, but you mentioned you have changed the decimals via UPX_MNTN, i.e. for enhanced planning layouts. These settings will not be transported with UPS_TRANSPORT_BPS_ALL, you have to use the transport via UPX_MNTN.

UPS_TRANSPORT_BPS_ALL is BPS tool and knows only about BPS features; UPX_MNTN is a tool on top of BPS.

Hi Gregor,

Thanks alot ..!! for quick reply. I have used both the methods ,I mean I have used  UPX_MNTN  transport also. On right hand corner of the  UPX_MNTN screen , transport everything (F7)  also Transport (shift+F6) but even then I have problem it is not getting overwriting with changes.

As a last trial I have used UPS_TRANSPORT_BPS_ALL( should not be used for UPX_MNTN changes). But none of them are working for me.

do you know what could be the reason.I have just changed decimals  from 6 to 2  for four KF's

Hi Prasad,

I am not an expert in UPX_MNTN, but you may check the DB tables. It seems that the settings can be found in table

UPX_KFS_COMMON field DECIMALS.

The link from the enhanced layout to this table comes from table

UPX_LAYOUT via the GUID field.

Maybe this link is broken.

You may check the table contents in the source and target systems. If the link is broken then the only option seems to be to create a new enhanced layout.

Gregor
