Hi Gurus,
I have a ATO sales order. The production order is released and partially confirmed.
Now the customer asked to cancel the order. Sales dept unable to reject the line as the production order is already in-process. They requested to delete the production order.
Even though I 'TECO' the prod order, I'm unable to set 'deletion flag'. what should I do to successfully reject the sales order?

There is no 'one easy solution' to my question. After long hard struggle, and with your guidance I wrote a business process flow on how to successfully CLOSE a partially completed production order.
I had to address all the different scenarios (with WM stock, QM inspections, scrap it or put it to shelf, TR/TOs already printed, COGI errors, WIP, Costing balances) and what business has to do (if the shop paper is already printed, go fetch it on the shop floor and trash it) .
This is a long hard procedure for the business to follow. Just to 'reject one sales line' the business has to go through 5 different departments which is 'Very tedious'. But there is no other way around in SAP.
Thanks a lot for all your help.

Hello
Please take a look on the information below, provided on FAQ note 540834:
8. Question:
When are the deletion flags for assembly orders set?
Answer:
You cannot manually set the deletion flag for static assembly
orders. Instead, the system automatically sets the deletion flag
when the corresponding sales order item:
o is completed (only for static assembly orders),
o is canceled,
o or is deleted.
The deletion flag for assembly orders with dynamic assembly is set
automatically if the corresponding sales order item:
o is canceled,
o or is deleted.
You can set the deletion flag manually using the archiving PP_ORDER
and, as of Note 1628094, using the transaction for changing the
order.

Hi Praneeth,
You have to cancel all confirmations and make balance zero. If not you can not set deletion flag to the order.

Please revoke all the activity done in production order. Only then you can delete the production order. Since the sales order is cancelled, there is no other way to make the balance as zero.
