SAP BW sizing.

Hello Guys,

I need information for doing Sizing for SAP BW system based on netweaver 7.3.

I did a rough estimation using quick sizer for 20 and 50 users having no of SAPs as 2200 and 3500.

But i feel this is pretty low for an production environment.

Customer is not able to provide any inputs and has asked to give sizing based on number of users.

So i there a some average information that i use in quick sizer to get to result which could be shared with customer.

I had selected following for 20 users

PLANING1    4

PLANING2    4

PLANING3   12

SAPS 2200

For 50 users

PLANING1    10

PLANING2    15

PLANING3     25

SAPS 3500

Regards

Abhishek

Hi Abhishek,

In BW systems user based sizing is not going to help. You need to know how many reports are will be required and what is the complexity of these reports.

Major load on the BI system is during data loads for these reports.

If you really want to go with user based sizing you may use following work around

1) Get the sizing from Quicksizer

2) Add 65% CPU normalization on the available value. It means 65% of the SAPs value obtained in step 1.

Steps(1) and (2) will give you appropriate sizing .

Hope this helps.
