Delivery not always creating when it should

Hello;

I am having an issue and I am a little stumped on it; any suggestions or help would be very much appreciated.

I have set up a variant in VL10A that would for a specific sold to / ship to create the deliveries 7 days prior to the delivery date. This variant is set up in a batch job. I have examples of the deliveries creating 7 days ahead of time and example of ones that don't. They are simple orders, with no changes, the material was in inventory when the delivery should have been created. I have double and triple checked / tested the variant and the batch job. I really don't know what else would have messed this up. I am fairly new to SAP so any help is appreciated.

We are on SAP 730 patch 2

Thanks Penny

Penny,

As you probably know, in VL10A, the field "Deliv. Creation Date" pick up those sales orders (or schedule lines, from sales orders) by checking either the Material availability date or the Transportation planning date. (not the delivery date).

For the sales orders not picked up in VL10A, whether either Material availability date or the Transportation planning date* fall within the Delivery creation dates given in VL10A.

*In a sales order to check Material availability date or the Transportation planning date; VA03, item level, Tab Schedule lines, button Shipping.

Side comment - Read the F1 help for VL10A, field "Deliv. Creation Date", this would help in the understanding.

Hi Penny,

As Lakshmipathi sir suggested, first option would be to try in dialog mode and check the reason for the ones which didn't have a delivery created.

Also verify if those orders have confirmed schedule lines.

Thanks

May be you can try with the one which goes correctly and compare the same with one which is not going by executing in foreground.  I think, by this way, you will find some clue
