Hi,
I found out that a publication is used to broadcast webi reports in pdf form. We are on BOBJ platform 4.0 SP6
After the publication is scheduled and the report is broadcast to all the receipients, SOMETIMES, the status on the publication does not get changed from 'running' state.
Has any body any workarounds or fixes for this? It would be great if you could share it with me asap.
I click on the 'running' state of the publication and see the following.
Title:
SU Energy Efficiency1

Error description(own observations)
Error/status number - FBE60037. SAP's link (below) says that it is not exactly an error.
Also, another link discusses the same issue but they claim the server restart fixes the issue. But really, I cannot restart the server everytime this happens. Thanks for the help in advance.
Hi Srikanth ,
How many users is the publication instance send to?
Request you to try and run the publication in TEST mode and check the behavior of the publication status by sending it to one user
Also the log details are incomplete , thus a tracing would be usefult .
if you can share the trace logs of adaptive job server and web intelliegence processing server , it would be useful

Thanks Sneha,
The problem occurs 20%-30% of the times a publication is scheduled. It does not matter even if the user count is 1 or 10. I tried in the test mode, the problem appears again, there is no pattern.
I will contact my team and try to see of the logs can be obtained since I don't have direct access to the server.
There is one more link where the same problem is discussed but a solution is never provided....Any thoughts? http://scn.sap.com/message/10098334
Thank you very much for your help!

Hi Srikanth,
did you say that all of your recipients are receiving the publication via email? Or is it just partially distributed? I'm trying to find out where the publication is stuck, at distribution time or before that
Does this happen just for the email destination or for others as well? Is the Default Destination selected? Are you using any publication extensions?
Christina
Hi Christina,
Yes, all reciepients are receiving the publication via email. The report is delivered as an attachment(pdf). The publication remains in 'running' state after delivering all report to everyone. It is stuck after the distribution time.
I am not using any publication extensions. The 'default enterprise location' is not checked. I tried to check it and then test it. The result is the same - it stays in running state sometimes, after the ditribution is complete.
I appreciate your help, further thoughts would be very valuable.

Hi Aflal,
We are actually on patch 56. If it is indeed a patch issue, my app will have to wait until the next release. ( I hope that is not the case. Btw, I tried testing, scheduling reports. Still sits sometimes in the running state. I don't know if its a memory issue and if we need to increase the memory on any one(or some) of the servers in CMC. Thoughts?
Thanks for your ideas anyway, banking on you all at scn first!
