BO XI 3.1 SP3 FP8 to SP5 FP4 Upgrade

Hi All,

I would like upgrade BO XI3.1 SP3 FP8 to BO XI 3.1 SP5 FP8 , i checked the sap update document @ https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001336752011E/xi31_sp5_install_en.pdf and as per the doc we can start installation using ./install.sh <instdir> . My question is do we need to uninstall any thing before or oafter installation of SP5 SP4. And also would like to know the installation sequence / and uninstallation sequence which was not talked in the document .

Quick responses will be appreciated.

    Hi Veeramalla,

As per your query , i do not think that you have to uninstall anything before the upgrade process

But I think BOXI 3.1 Sp3FP 8 would have the fixes of SP5, so you might run into an error about the higher patch is already installed .

The guides are found here : http://help.sap.com/boall/

Also, back up your CMS repoistory and Filestore and web application server directory if there are any customization are made in BO applications before the upgrade starts

    Thanks,

    Venkat,

I would very strongly recommend going straight to SP6 because Tomcat5 is out of support by SAP & Jakarta. BOE XI 3.1 SP6 will update you Tomcat5 to Tomcat7.

    SP6 contains all the fixes including SP5 + Patch 3, SP4 + Patch 4

    Regards,

    Ajay
