Selections are being ignored at RSA3 in data source

Hi Sap Gurus,

I have one generic data source based on Function module. I have provided 3 fields (BUDAT KUNNR ORT01) as selection fields but when I am providing a range for any selection field in RSA3, it is ignoring that range and bringing the whole data.

BUDAT = posting date

KUNNR = customer

ORT01 = Cityname

Actually my main motive is to load data in chunks as data is too large, my request is yellow for long time with zero records fetched in Infopackage.

Kindly provide the soution why the selection fields in data source in RSA3 are ignoring the selection values provided to them.

Thanks & Regards,

Shashi

    can you paste the FM code?

    did you assign the values of the selection criteria to the select internal table?

    did you add the selection criteria in the where clause of the select statement?

    do you use the correct format in RSA3 (ie with leading zeroes etc)?

    BR,

    M.

      Hi Tibollo,

      I didnt provide any selection criteria in FM. I am selecting entire data in Function module and want to display the whole data in BI with some filters at Report level.

      I am using correct format in RSA3.

      regards,

      Shashi

    Hi Shashi,

    As Tibollo has mentioned above, the issue is mainly as you have not assigned the values of the selection criteria to the select internal table. You can clearly check this out if you select the DEBUG mode on RSA3 and then execute with selections, you will find that the selections are not considered in the function module logic.

    Kindly paste the function module codes here, so that we can get a better idea. In any case it is not harmful to try a debug of the extractor along with an ABAP expert.

    Hope this helps,

    Regards,

    HI,

    Have you passed all the parameters like Data extraction/Calls, Data records, Target system etc..update mode should be F mode.

    Please try again..and let me know..

      Hi Suman,

      I have passed all the parameters update mode is F.

      In development ECC, data is less so not a probelm even if fetch whole data. But coming to Production BI, Infopackage is yellow for long time, so I want to load data in chunks if these filter conditions would be working fine in Infopackage or RSA3.

      regards,

      Shashi

    Hi,

    Please share RSA3 screen with your input data.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    I think you are providing selections in RSA3 to check data there.

    (RSA3 is just displaying the data and it is not providing those selections to your infopackage in BW.)

    You can provide those filters in selection tab of infopackage to fiter data.

    regards,

    Dipti
