Stock Transfer from Quality to SubContract Vendor

Dear Experts,

Is it possible to provide and receive stock from Subcontracting Vendor from Quality Stock Type. Movement 541 is possible from Unrestricted only and 543 consumption happens from same stock.

The business receives batches for rework in quality. The rework is done by Subcontracting and thus we dont want to move the material from Q to Unrestricted.

Is there any standard way to do this? If not, how can we do this by customizing? Any movement type possible? Where I need to mention the stock type?

there is no way to do that, you cannot create new functions for new movements as new movement can only be created by copy of existing movements.

if a withdrawl from Q stock is not designed then you cannot get it by just creating a new movement.General Information on Stock Types (SAP Library - Inventory Management and Physical Inventory (MM...:

Here the solution is you have to customize new movement types by copying 541 & 543.

Please read SAP Note 496992 - Goods issue for delivery: Stock type

    • Hi,

I can give this suggestion…..You have to copy movement type 321 and maintain the account grouping and update control as per 541. Now follow the instructions in NOTE 864693 – Customer specific movement types for subcontracting.

I’m not sure whether it will meet your requirement, since it is a big challenge to update the program. Also, I didn’t try it….

    Dear Rohit,

you can also define a new storage location specialy for such activities from transaction OX09 with/without MRP indicator as needed, and make subcontracting challans from new storage location.
