Dimension member formulas - 255 character limit

Hello Experts,

We have a requirement on our current project to include dimension member formulas in the account dimension to calculate the "Days of Inventory Outstanding" on the fly. The formula for this is:

Current month DIO = (Current month Inventories / Sum of Cost of Sales for past 6 months) * 180.

When I use the "[TIME].CURRENTMEMBER.LAG(1), [ACCOUNT].[MEMBER])" syntax to retrieve the COS values for the past 6 months, I am exceeding the 255 character limit on the dimension formula.

Is there a way for us to increase the character limit on the dimension member formulas?

If not, can you please provide any suggestions that can either help me write the formula in a different way?

Kindly provide guidance at your earliest convenience. Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Vijay.

    Hi Vijay,

In the screen where you define formulas on the right hand side you can see Options. It refers to a file stored in UJFS. There you can write as long formula as you want.

    Hi Vijay,

Today there is no way to increase the 255 character limit, but you can skip [ACCOUNT] dimension reference in the formula. The member without dimension reference will be treated as ACCOUNT.
