URL to access the inbox of a user directly

Hi,

I am doing some extensive R&D in business objects as in our organization we are integrating BO with our java web application.I want to provide a link in my application on click of which it should display the contents of the inbox of a user and nothing else.

Please note that i have tried to achieve this using BI Launchpad but it shows me the header part with the logout option and all other folders(to which the user has access in the left navigation) as well. I tried using OpenDocument but openDocument works only for a document so it couldn't help me either.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Saurabh Agarwal

    Hi Saurabh,

You cannot switch to a user's inbox in InfoView directly from a custom java portal, however, you can design another custom portal using enterprise SDK where you can get the documents present in a user's inbox.

You can execute a query against CMS repository that will give you the list of documents in a user's inbox and display in you custom java portal accordingly. But if you are thinking of switching directly to a user's inbox in InfoView, this is not possible.

You can redirect the user to InfoView or BI Launchpad homepage and then user can navigate to their personal folders but there is no such way to redirect a user directly to their inbox without getting the BI Launchpad homepage. The only option is to develop your custom portal and implement the way you want it to be.

For detailed information on how to set up the development environment for your custom portal, please refer to the developers guide available here.

    Hope it helps.

    Regards,

      Hi Saurabh,

Depending oon which reports/documents you are dealing with, relevant SDK's have to be used in oredr to get the functionalities like viewing, exporting e.t.c.

Below list provides the document type and relevant SDK to be implemented in your java portal:

Crystal Report: RAS SDK or Enterprise SDK

Web intelligence Report: Report Engine SDK

You can refer to the developer guide at:

      RAS SDK & Enterprise SDK

      Report Engine SDK

Please refer to the developers guide for detailed information on how to implement export, view functionality using SDK.

      Hope it helps.

      Regards,
