Hi All,
We have spare parts for Maintenance/Service order maintained in batches. we want to determine batches in component tab of service/maintenance order automatically as soon as it is released. rules should be first batch at storage location should be consumed first in service/maintenance order.
i know there is batch determination for Production order. But i want to do it in service/maintenance order
thanks,
amit

There's nothing standard in PM that I know of.. And I don't think IWO10011 will help
What would happen with material added after release?
Have a look at the following user-exit:
PPCO0005: Storage location/backflushing when order is created

HI Pete,
Thank you very much for reply. yes in my case it gonna happen lot of times.
Let me give you some background on requirement:
Actually we are doing a Customer repair scenario where components are batch managed. service order type SM03 will be created once i take delivery in (PGR) and create it in Repair tab in Order type RAS. Service order is created in background mode. there i want system to determine batch number for components.
Thanks,

Hi Amit
As per your scenario described above you are creating a repair order in through Notification (IW51) and from there you are creating RAS order am I correct?
If that's the case than you must have been assigned the service material over there.Have you assigned batch determination over there.
Secondly as you have mentioned above after doing the PGR the system will determine the service material in VA02 at and with copy control it will generate the service order (SM03), are you talking to assign the batch determination over here? please clear. I have such kind of scenario also.
Please correct if I understood wrongly!!!
Thank you
In Service Order, whether before release or after release, you assign the component. But for some reason, you made that order on hold.
One more Service Order has been created with the same material requirement.
Now, which order will have the priority to take the first batch???
Generally, while making goods issue, material should be issued with the latest batch. Check for some exit for MIGO / MB1A goods movement transactions.
Hi,
It is not possible in standard, this can be done using the user exit
try with the user exit "IWO10011"
