Hi everybody,
does anyone know if there is a maximum limit on number of contexts present in SSM10?
Thanks,
Luis Almeida
Luis,
The number that is shown in the guide (500) is the number that is used during testing but further enquiries revealed that the number is far more than that - I don't think anyone has ever found the true technical limit.
The effective limit is determined by a) the resources of the machine/environment and b) (more importantly) your ability to manage the complexibility of a system with thousands of Contexts and how appropriate that is.
The old discussion point applies here - just because you might be able to do something technically does not mean that is a good idea and certainly not unless you think carefully about the implications.

Luis,
800 should be fine so long as you size the system right.
There is no limit to the number of Objectives that you can store in the Library. You won't have a technical problem about the number of Objectives in a Context. If you start thinking this way then you have a business problem relating to structure and how the users will be able to focus on what they are supposed to be trying to achieve
