SAP-CPS/Cronacle - Active Auditing - trail retention

We have the additional module "Active Auditing" from Redwood installed in our CPS instances.

We are documenting standards for usage currently - the options for Diff-Only & Full audit of objects are useful.

However we are trying to find how to setup retention/archiving/deletion config for the Audit Trail.

Has anyone out there come across this?

Note that there are two jobs I've found:

System_ArchiveAuditObjects
System_ExportAuditObjects

The Archive job exports data as XML and REMOVES it.

The Export job exports data as XML without removing it.

We are investigating the best way to set retention - probably by having a periodic job to "archive" audit trail data after X months.

Hello Jamie,

Yes that is what most customers do: Schedule the System_ArchiveAuditObjects on a regular basis to remove the data from the database after x months.

Hi Gerben - yes seems to be working nicely - also I'm liking the fact it's locked down to

Keep: All Jobs

So then retention of archive is good.

Do you know is there a process to restore archived data? or must that be manual

There is no procedure to restore archived audit data at this moment.

In fact the Keep "all jobs" setting is overridden by any system default. So we are now having to look for another job to archive the archive jobs files in a chain or something
