Hi all,
The default hana os admin user is <sid>adm.
How can we change this default os user account after a hana system is already installed?
We want to use the same user account across hana systems.
Use the same os admin user such as hdbadm, don’t want the <sid> be part of it (we use different sid name for different systems)
How can we do this after the hana system is already installed?
Thanks,
Lily
I am not sure whether this will work or not.
go to root and execute below command
groups <sid>adm
it will show the groups for which <SID>adm is assigned to , now assign the os admin user such as hdbadm to the same groups.
Hope this will work.

Hello,
I think this is good approach - I would certainly recommend to keep <sid>adm user as it is and to not mess with it and rather create new user and make is as similar as possible (same groups, environment variables, etc...)
As far as I know there is no official way how to change this user or how to specify different name during installation and from past (non-HANA) experience I know that some features might be hard-coded against this user..
