Report based on SP runs fine, but Verify cannot find the table

This is one I've never seen before. I'm running Crystal XI Designer (11.0.0.895) against a SQL Server 2008 R2 database using an ODBC connection. I've created a report based on a stored procedure. In the database, rights to the SP are granted to public. The SP runs fine in SSMS.

I can run the report in the Designer with no problem. But if I run a Verify Database, it tells me "The database table "cmc_RPT_MammographySurvey;1" cannot be found. Proceed to remove this table from the report?" How can it not be found if it just returned data from it?

I went as far as to set up my ODBC connection to use the sa account, and the results are the same. I'm really stumped. Does anyone have any suggestions?

thanks,
