Hi Lara,

what exactly are you interested in?

There are multiple ways how to electronically exchange data:

You can use SAP Information Interchange OnDemand as an EDI connector:

https://store.sap.com/sap/cpa/ui/resources/store/html/SolutionDetails.html?pid=0000004630&pcntry=US&...

You can also use Alligacom's solution for this:

https://store.sap.com/sap/cpa/ui/resources/store/html/SolutionDetails.html?pid=0000004749&pcntry=US&...

More information about EDI in general can be found in the help documentation:

http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy-ab&q=site:http%3A%2F%2Fhelp.sap.com%2Fsaphelp_byd1302%2Fen+%22ele...

You can also exchange data between the SAP Business Suite and ByDesign without an EDI connector in between but use the existing A2X interfaces from ByDesign and directly connect it to the Business Suite.

It would help which scenario you are looking at in particular.

Best, Christian

Hi Christian,

What would be your recommendation for the following scenario(s)?:

One Manufacturer (Seller) in SAP ByD connected to several different OEM's in R/3 (Buyers).

Messages to be interchanged would be Scheduling Agreeements, Order acknowledgement, Order change, delivery/shipment details, Invoice. Ahead in time it could be Vendor Managed (VM) stock scenario, later on: Vendor Managed Owned (VMO) stock; and so on.

Thanks in advance and Best Regards,

Marcos

I'm not an expert in this. But my feeling is the following:

There are no out-of-the-box integration scenarios for this.

But you should be able to use the a2x-interfaces in ByDesign for purchase orders and PO acknowledgments to cover Scheduling Agreeements, Order acknowledgemen and Order changes, and there's also one for invoices.

I am not sure if there are interfaces for stock information. In that case I believe it would be easier to use the SDK to build specific business objects for this and integrate that into the stock information in ByDesign.

Best, Christian

Hello Luis,

For the stock scenario we have a complete scenario and web-services available. This is called third party logistic when an inventory is handle by a third party.

Have a look to what WS available on that side in the repository explorer or from BYD itself ("new communication arrangement" > "Third party logistic") But scope it first in the business configuration.

You can basically do at a high-level

  • Shipments of Goods

  • Goods Receipts

  • Inventory Adjustments

It depends on which objects in ByDesign you are trying to integrate, and what you are trying to do with them.. But we (Navigator) have done all sorts of integrations.

For the products are you just trying to get out ATP.. then there is a standard Service as part of the Ecommerce integrations that allows you to pull out ATP info.

feel free to email me if you have any specific questions.
