Functional area in hierarchy for financial statement is truncated

Hello everone,

we want to create financial statement for cost of sales method in BW. Hierarchy for 0GLACCEXT exists.

Per definition infoobject 0FUNC_AREA can contain 16 characters. But 0GLACCEXT does only have space for 12 characters (see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/04/7b95fb42b0f94aba334c0890dbbda4/content.htm).

We have functioanal areas with more than 12 characters and in 0GLACCEXT-hierarchy those members are truncated and can't be matched in report.

How can I avoid this behaviour? Have we to adjust the functional areas in R/3?
