Is the new community really better

I have no doubt that the technical aspect of the new platform is better, but I have a hard time seeing this become to the level of the same success as the old SCN.

I am amazed how it is possible to degrade a great place of information to this level.

It might be a good idea to clean out old obsolete stuff, unfortunately this is not what have happened, instead links to often used information now doesn't work.

Apparently only posts with comments are migrated to the archive, everything else is gone. The problem is, that not all posts on the old SCN had comments, simply because they where disabled.

An example of this is the old link http://sap.com/LearnBI that pointed to a page on the old SCN, now it is We're Sorry...

Well perhaps you truly is sorry, I am just sad that we had something that did work, know we have something more fancier and probably on a better technological platform, but the user experience makes it utterly useless.

    an old saying comes to mind: "Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater" and i think it exists in other languages, too...[coffee sip]... in this particular case, technology has not diminished its relevance.

    Simply killed the old matured community just to enhance the look and feel.

      One wonders what their criteria were for these choices that were made. Lots of people provided documented input. Very little was used in their choices.

        Management was taken away from the community in order to fulfill some marketing delusion and the fanciful thinking of some social media "gurus", and keep happy the senior management of some customers, who got upset the FAQs etc. of their staff were removed.

        Don't try to find a rational reason. I'm fairly sure there aren't any!
