SAP / IT Podcasts (and some non-SAP) ...

Hello Community

I've been a big fan of Podcasts as a means to add some learning (or distraction) when I'm commuting to work or have some leisure time ...

I'm kind of curious whether other people in the SAP Community share the same experience with this medium.

I subscribe to a bunch of different Podcasts and depending on my mood or specific purpose, I tend to look for SAP / IT-related Podcasts or some of the other things that interest me. I thought it would be nice to share some of my 'Podcasts-of-choice' and offer others a chance to mention theirs ...

To avoid getting into an extensive list, I narrowed my List down to 5 IT-related and 5 non-IT-related Podcasts and provide their hyperlinks ...

Feel free to 'promote' some of your favourites ... Here goes :

SAP / IT-related :

  • SAP CodeTalk : The Podcast of the same YouTube-SAP-CodeTalk recordings. Obviously, you sometimes miss out on the visuals that are provided on YouTube ...
  • IoT Hero Show : Podcast by Tom Raftery (SAP) on IoT topics. Sadly no recent episodes as the last episode was in Dec.2017 ...
  • O'Reilly Programming Podcast : Podcast about new technology and patterns in programming languages ...
  • SAP Cloud Platform : Podcast about SAP Cloud Platform with information about new features and Interviews with people in the know ...
  • InfoQ Podcast : Interesting Podcasts on a broad range of IT-related topics.

Non-IT :

  • BBC4 In Our Time History : Podcast where several experts talk about key historic periods, cultures and venues ... Informative and often quite funny (thanks to the typical English sence of Comedy).
  • Rippercast : Podcast about new research and discoveries around the figure of Jack The Ripper and the Victorian Age. I've been hooked on this Podcast for many years.
  • Totalus Rankium : Two very funny guys that rank the different Roman Emperors through some crazy categories such as ''Fightius Maximus" or "Successus Ultimus" ...
  • Stoic Meditations : Some short Stoic (as in the 'ancient Greek Philosophy') texts, delivered by modern day philosopher Massimo Pigliucci. Just a short quote (and their meaning) in a few short minutes that can break through the stress of every day life ...
  • Librivox Audiobooks : Librivox offers free Audiobooks that are recorded in 'the public domain'. A lot of the classic literary works have been recorded as an Audiobook and this way you can get introduced to a lot of content you wouldn't naturally gravitate to ...

I realise I left out the new (SAP) Coffee Corner Radio Podcast that was recently created and mentioned in some Blogs, but it has received some attention already - and yes, I'm also subscribed to that one.

Happy (reading?) listening ...

Thanks for sharing your list Nic and thanks for mentioning the (SAP) Coffee Corner Radio Podcast too!

If you are interested in Tech podcasts I can highly recommend the Twit Network (especially the Security Now show). My favourite non-Tech podcast currently is the Sky Sports Golf Podcast... but only recommended for golf fans! :-)

      Thanks for the update.

I believe a lot of people are into listening to AudioBooks and Podcasts, as they have been Trending mediums for the last couple of Years ...

I was curious what other SAP-related people were reading / listening to. A shame the Post didn't really catch on before. So maybe a Renaissance for this Topic?

More than a year has passed since the introduction of my List, not much changed for my favourites though. The mentioned Podcasts are still active and generating Content regularly. Rather than expanding my List to an 'ever-growing' and 'never-finalized' List of Podcasts, I'm trying to limit my Subscriptions. Every once and a while I have some interesting "New" Discovery which keeps things interesting. But again, that would take this Topic too far. And actually, I'm more interested in other People's lists rather than listing my own ...

I would definitely add the following podcast to the list, as it is very relevant to my line of work

Driving Digital Transformation with SAP Ariba

Will have to check out the podcasts that you mentioned , as some seem very interesting.

Thank you for taking the time to list them.
