Interesting choices for Partners on

If you go to the Top Menu of Death and click Partner, there are 4 options (can't add a screenshot here since I blew the 2 picture quota on the masterpieces below).

Out of curiosity, I clicked on "Become a Partner" and it looked quite all right. White space aside, the information was presented clearly and provided some clickable links. Nicely done.

But the whole different story is in "Already an SAP Partner". This is the first page you see:

Iconic picture (rather odd choice of a stock photo IMHO), white space, one paragraph of text, the usual stuff. OK, scroll down:

Uhm... So if you really do have "other places" then where are they? Where is that community that requires username and password? If it's the same as Partner Edge then why is this a separate item? Where are "the links above"? Oh, you mean the two links to the same Partner Edge? Well, it says "Login to..." so would be odd if it did not require username/password, would it?

There are no other links on the page. At first I thought that maybe the links in the top right corner on the first screenshot (prominently displayed using light blue color on grey background) actually went somewhere else, but they only scrolled down to the second page.

I'm starting to feel much better about the SCN homepage now!

Weird... I see something different (Firefox, IE11):

Are you using any add-ons, which block content page elements - like adblock??

The funny thing is that the three links (green) lead to page not found...

I see what Veselina sees. But those three links on the bottom? they say "Page not found" when you click on them. Maybe cause I'm not logged in? You would think you would get a message to that effect and not the page not found error.

Wait, you DON'T use AdBlock?! :) OK, that explains it, thank you! The missing pieces reappear when Adblock is disabled. Which is rather strange - I don't recall having such issues before on the SAP sites. Hm...

Yes, the links at the bottom still lead to but I'm guessing it'll get fixed at some point.

OK, never mind, carry on, nothing to see here. :)

Heheh... no way... I use AdBlock +NoScript+Disconnect all the time, but we probably use different lists - my main subscription is for Bulgarian List+EasyLIst and I have a few other custom filters defined.

I suspected Adblock or a similar addon, because the elements, which are missing in your case, have class name starting with socialBox - depends on which level you got them blocked.

I was sooooo wanting someone to notice but since you all use ad blockers, I guess it's not likely: what's "missing" from old SCN that you would be HAPPY is now gone?... hint: something you block...and that took a lot of effort on our side to keep out of the new community... and that would be a little too delicate for me to share in any sort of "look how we responded to community needs" post...

And please note that I have hidden this comment...

I have ad/script blockers installed only on the devices, which I own, not on all devices, which I use.

I noticed that there are no ads at the moment - this is nice, I agree. Good ad-blockers require minimal tinkering after the initial setup and this site is IT-related, but still ... small positive disconfirmation(++)

Yes, advertising in SCN complied with the acceptable ads criteria and, I think, it originated from servers (lower chance of distributed malware compared to external ad networks), but it made no sense to serve these in the forum at all- display ads here are very ineffective and a waste of resources for both parties.

On the other hand, the number of external scripts, which I need to allow now on per case basis to get the site functioning properly, seems higher, which is not much of an improvement. NoScript is trickier to configure in such cases. Larger negative disconfirmation: (- - - -)

You still need to pay attention to tracking protection attempts blocked and page elements missing even if you don't use ad/script blockers in Firefox (my alternative browser), just like before, because it is ships by default with less flexible tracking protection. No disconfirmation.

Overall perceived quality - between no change and negative.

By the way, when a regular member creates a comment, only the viewability setting viewable by all users works (I tried in 3 browsers already): viewable by moderators and the original poster makes no sense and seems to do nothing. Could a moderator check if I had polluted the thread by accident?

"Viewable by moderators and the original poster" means only moderators and the person who you reply to directly can see the comment (like this one). If you hover over the little lock left of the moderator icon, you can see who will see the content. :)

Hmm, I see now you commented on your own comment, not Audrey's. Maybe that's the "issue" here? Could you reply to hers so we can see, if your comment is automatically set to private?

    Hi Jelena,

Thank you for the heads up. I've reached out to my colleagues on the team to see if they can track down the specific ad-block issue with the content on the Partner page.

I'll also make sure the broken links are taken care of in the community section of the page.

And big thanks to Veselina for your help in troubleshooting the issue!
