Proceed with [Caution]

If you've gotten any email notifications today, you may have noticed something funny about the subject line...

Although the word [Caution] appears, there's no need to panic...even if you aren't carrying a towel.

At the moment, we're not sure why this is happening, but it doesn't seem to be tied into any sort of official warning. The notification emails themselves are otherwise fine.

We're working to figure this out and fix.

I noticed that too, but just assumed Sajid Amir changed the template for the associated email notifications.

No, that's the weird thing. That's the first thing Sajid did -- checking the templates -- and they haven't changed.

The issue seems to be resolved. Still looking into what caused it.

This is probably triggered from the spam protection in your email system.

Our's adds the words +++ possible SPAM +++ if it is not 100% certain that it is real spam (which is not even delivered)

Yeah, Jeremy was concluding the same. I still haven't heard the official version, but spam protection does seems a likely culprit.

Does it qualify as irony that a community employee received a caution about community emails? I mean in the Alanis Morissette sense, not the snooty literary sense.

Plenty of Jagged Little Pills to swallow these days ;)

I'm glad that IT didn't add a rule that turned 'New Follower' emails into [STALKER]
