[Status Update]SCN text auto-replacement suggestion

Motion to have "please guide me" replaced automatically with "please provide me free consulting services". It looks like this phrase is usually used by OPs trying to weasel their way out of doing their job. The proposed replacement reflects the nature of this statement more accurately IMHO.

And in 99% of questions with "please guide me" the question author is unable to describe his requirements :)

Maybe just replace it with "Please write my question for me" :)

Yes, at times it feels like some odd Jeopardy game: you need to figure out the question first and then answer it.

And won't even bother to accept the correct answer... :(

it would be more terrific to replace "please guide me" by

the "need your support to resolve this issue ASAP"

I took this phrase from the real question...

It always makes me wonder if the authors of such questions actually work at a consulting company that was hired to "resolve ASAP" by an SAP customer. "They took our jerbs" and now want SCN to do all the work.

At the time when I looked up the exact phrase and filtered down by content type Question there are 701 results.

This makes it a valid business case, especially if you count also the hits in blogs and discussions. :)

I know, empathy is all the rage these days, but I really miss the FB feature where you can allocate content by certain individuals in separate lists and never look back...

The worst thing in all of this is people answering and spoon feeding!

Ok, empathy is good, but once i give you all the suggestions, all the right Key words to search, even link some examples, why you keep asking for the whole code?

And why, for Dumathoin!, giving it!?!??!?!

it brings out the Gotrek in me

(btw, i have to link the image and not put as image: the button doesn't work!)

Let me try if I can add the image here (by the way, check what is the image size of the file that is stored locally on your PC).

If the image is not very big and the popup does not appear or the progress bar freezes - try refreshing the page, if still no luck - clear your browsing data; this usually does the trick (it happened to me a few times in the past).

Re: why keep asking for the whole code - because sometimes they might give you the whole code and it is easier that way :)

        Funny!

after some minutes and changing a couple of pages, the popup asking the file to upload appeared!

i stop asking myself why such things happen on the community >_<

That's exactly what I'm saying! People asking "guide me", in fact, never want to be "guided". They want a code to copy-paste or "step-by-step with screenshots" in case of a functional question.

When someone has already been given all the keywords to search for and is still asking "guide me" - that really rustles my jimmies.

Just activating the motherf*g-snake bug in such case would turn a bug into a feature.
