[Status update] Tried checking out my Activity stream, but all I see is Jürgen und some Horst.

Is it just me or are the guys either updating every answer and comment to a question or the re-tagging of questions also triggers updating (re-tagging?) of the replies and that's why my AS is now even more flodded than before?

Jürgen L?

I cleaned up the ERP Order status tag today, as this is related to a mobile app

and was heavily used to post question about sales order and production orders and even questions that had nothing at all to do with the app or an order status.

...and many questions have been buried there and had not received an answer because of the wrong tag.

So finally there are 0 questions that are left and related to the mobile app.

The newer questions and those with answers (because of better secondary tags) have be retagged, all older have been removed with a comment to repost if the question is still open after so many months without following up on it.

Unfortunately you get one item per existing answer into your activities.

Unfortunately you get one item per existing answer into your activities.

But that wasn't the case earlier, was it? When you re-tagged a question, I only got that info, not that the replies to the questions were updated, too. I think... oO

No it was not this way in the past, I think it is this way since maybe 2 months, earlier you got just 1 item into the activities.

On one side I wished that retagging by a moderator would not be seen at all in the activities.

On the other side, how else would one notice that a "new item" got added to a tag xy.

Maybe it should list the name of the OP instead of the moderator, this way you would at least only see it in the activities if you followed the OP or the tag where it is now in.

Maybe it changed as preparation for the (someday) coming grouping. But I don't see any benefit at the moment for it, because you did not update these posts, but the stream says you did.

Wasn't it in the "to do" list to make re-tagging activities not appear in the stream? The only one who would be interested (or should be) is the OP.

I just tested and there seems to be an issue Jurgen and Steffi Warnecke . I am escalating it right away. During my test, I edited a question but all answers and comments on that question were also shown as being updated on other activity streams. I'll update you as soon as I know more.

And thank you so much for reporting it! I was not aware that this got broken.

I wasn't sure it was broken. Could have been a feature, not a bug. ^^ That's why I raised it in the CC to get some feedback. :)

IT found the issue Steffi and Jürgen L They are working on a solution so that only one "update" activity is shown in the activity streams when a question gets edited.

Almost all avatars that I see in my Activity Stream after pressing More a few times are Jürgen's , Horst's and yours :)

I suppose that Jürgen is either re-tagging questions or processing moderation tasks, Horst is not a moderator and is probably just updating his own posts.

Unfortunately there is no suitable filter to hide these updates, or at least I could not find a way to do that.

Yes, Jürgen is re-tagging. But instead of just getting that he updated the question (which he did by re-tagging) every post on that question (answers and comments) does also appear as "updated" by him in my Activity Stream. That's the issue. ^^

I actually stopped even looking at the Activity Stream a while ago. But just checked out of curiosity and 2 pages down this is what takes my whole screen on a laptop:

Even the screenshot is so big that when I was adding the image here the Accept button went off screen. :)

I saw the similar conversation over at

A big part of my job is keeping track of what's going on with the "using" tag. If I just look at the activites stream itself, it does get a bit cumbersome, as it shows every little thing (so-and-so liked this, so-and-so followed that). It isn't very helpful when I'm trying to identify new posts and/or comments requiring a response.

That's when I find that the filters come in handy. I filter by "using," then filter by "blog." After I check to make sure there isn't any blog activity requiring my attention, I filter by "Q&A."

That all requires extra steps, but it allows me to filter out the noise and focus on the stuff that I should investigate.

Helllo Steffi and Jürgen L ,

Wanted to give you guys an update that a fix for this issue was recently rolled out. Can you kindly let me know if you notice any problems with the solution? Thanks for waiting so patiently and again, apologies for the inconvenience.

Jerry has mentioned this fix in his latest release highlights as well.

    Best regards,

I was actually not that much effected as I do not see my own activities (still I know what I am doing)

However I recognized the change and have not yet seen any problems with it.

With the new tag picker I hope that the retagging activities become an almost unnoticed activity
