Hello friends of sap community,
humour@sap is gone, but I think we should collect the best status updates somewhere.
I'll start with the following 2:
The classic launchpad welcome message (as seen many times - everybody knows it)
or the next - help.sap.com got migrated to HANA:
;-) there are many more - please share what you got!
Best regards
There I fixed it.
But now it looks as if you are planning to hang Capra!
My skills are not advanced enough to remove the rope, so let's go with what Lukas Weigelt said.
It's like "Don't write angry mails to the support center, or We'll hang the goat!"
poor little goat thingy - has to suffer for everything that's gone wrong at SCN :-)
Capra is meant to bring happiness to people, and to remind us that even if the platform is not what we want, hopefully we can rebuild an ENTIRE COMMUNITY OF GOAT-LOVERS oooops, I mean rebuild our great community.
https://twitter.com/skeohan/status/915944128374026240 (Capra can fly!)
Are we not just goad-ing users by suggesting SAP don't even feel sheepish about the issue?
but does 'no message' also count in your request for status update screens?
of course it does! - It's like the "SAP One Support launchpad" message telling you there are some small performance problems (the one in the bottom/left corner that can be closed) but the launchpad stays empty - although you need it badly because of high prio Incidents! :-)
I don't know how and why I got this one:
ok, one more for your pleasure
- the wiki/confluence:
Planned downtime 12.09.2017 7am-8am - picture was taken 18.09.2017 ;-)
best regards!
and the last one for the german speaking guys&girls at Walldorf:
The "installing fiori apps on premise is a piece of cake" message:
Have a good day!
Thank you so much.
A nice one from today when I tried to add a link to a SAP note in an answer:
UX at its finest...
I'm getting this one today with ANY URL I try to link to. :(
-Dell
Does your url contain special symbols?
There are a number of + symbols - I was trying to link to a couple of SAP Wiki docs...
Two options then (if you still wish to edit the text):
Option 1 example:
How to analyze the creation of a billing document
Substitute '+' with '%20'. I use notepad for this.
Option 2 example:
How to analyze the creation of a billing document
Use a URL shortener.
Within the wiki, press the 'K' key and you'll get a convenient popup menu for copying the short URL and not the long wordy ones with symbols.
This is a really cool tip! I did not know that...
Cool. Thanks Jeremy!
I had the same problem with SCN wiki URLs. Looks like special symbols (+, I guess) do not sit well with some new validation. Already mentioned it here (ugh, the URL pop-up now makes my eyes bleed all the time :( ).
Sorry, forgot to at mention you in my comments above - realizing that you are one notification degree removed from the tip I was sharing above ^^ and get no push notification as to my sharing of the keyboard trick. This nudge should suffice ;)
Thank you, Jeremy! I very much wish we didn't have to spend our energy on working around this platform, sigh...
I got a new "Welcome" message at the SAP ONE Support Launchpad, I guess this was made only for me ;-) (have a look at the background for the error message)
best regards
I tried to go to the forums. Success.
Achievement unlocked.
So... congrats? ^^
Do I get a badge? :-)
speechless?
Well, after so many years there is nothing left to say to eachother.
.
btw: I still see the text. IE11.
yes the text is back in Chrome too, now.
Maybe they tested to get more content in one page....
Yeah, we might as well be like in that anecdote: a group of old friends telling jokes by just mentioning the number. :)
Oh, yeah, that stopped my heart for a couple minutes earlier, causing a mad scramble to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it.
I'm just glad it didn't last long. I was in the middle of a twitter discussion with Steve (https://twitter.com/steverumsby/status/928271945937965057) when the comment gods decided we were worthy of words again...
