SCN champions within SAP - thank you!

Rarely I write such posts (uhm, probably never :) ) but somehow today I feel thankful to have the SAP employees here who are not afraid to speak out and be the SCN champions within the organization. Michael Appleby, Jeremy Good, and I'm sure many others I can't recall right now or might not even know - thank you!

It's one thing to criticize from the outside ("Boo, SAP, boo!") but completely different story when you work for The Man and your income depends on it. So just wanted to let you know your support is very much appreciated.

P.S. I guess SAP might be not such a bad place to work at if all these people have not been sent to the farm upstate so far. :)

Thank you for the kind words Jelena - if only you could have @mentioned me, I would have seen your post sooner, but I digress.... ;)

I will share a quote from a long time community leader and colleague that continues to serve as motivation and inspiration for me to keep paving the community road ahead of us:

"..that's where our customers are, that's where they are talking to each other, that's where they are talking about our products."

P.S. - images of swinging a pic axe in the chain gang come to mind, so your theme song post from a few months ago may have inspired this Soggy Bottom Boys title track:

Helena, thank you for acknowledging Jeremy, Mike and others like him who - like you - are passionate about this community and happen to work at SAP as well. They have a special opportunity to represent the program from a slightly different position and they are being heard. I'm new to this effort (or more accurately back to this effort, having worked directly for Mark Yolton back when Chip, Mark Finnern, and others ran it), and am excited about SAP rededicating itself to Community. Change does seem to be afoot and Jeremy, Mike et al are certainly helping. Thanks for recognizing them.

I think we need to applaud their unsung bosses at SAP too... I have seen way too many companies where one such public utterance of "maybe we are not the bees-knees" would put the employee on the street.
