[Status Update] I'm, on SapGui750 + BC6.5 now

...but why is finding/getting a piece of SAP-Software so hard? (Or maybe I'm just doing it wrong...)

I find that in Google if you enter a more detailed request you get better results but in SAP Launchpad it's the other way around. You're better off entering something simple and then digging in manually.

E.g. enter SAP GUI in the search screen and it prompts to search in Downloads. Then scroll a couple of pages (fortunately, it's not SCN, so no need to click More after every 20 items) and there is SAP GUI 7.5. The only confusing part is there are 2 of them and I have no clue what's the difference between "installation" and "maintenance" in this context.

BTW I love my SAP GUI 7.2. :)

How buggy is it? 7.4 was a disaster without patch :(

    Hi Joachim,

my recommendation: everybody interested in GUI-Updates should "watch" (subscribe to) the following WIKI page:

SAP GUI for Windows: Important News

Thanks to Martin Runz this page seems to be getting updates in a timely manner currently and also contains specific deep links into the download area.

    Cheers, Lutz

Found something that seems to work not that well: Debugging (yes, I use/try out SapGui 750 within BC6.5, both with Belize-Theme).

First try I was stuck on "5 % connection to debugger" and had to kill the process.

On the second try, I got to the debugger allright (and can use it!), but that "5 %"-Overlay-Message won't go away!

Mine debugger doesn't load at all, what a bummer! I am using SAPGUI 750 with BC6.5.

SAPGUI works perfectly in standalone mode though.

Does anyone else miss the FTP site that had SAP Gui downloads? I have been a consultant for a number of years and it has always been an interesting proposition trying to get SAP Gui updates on my personal computer. Often the last time anyone at a client site has downloaded SAP Gui was whenever they made their computer images. So, not only do I have to find a person who has the right permissions, and then convince them and looking over their shoulders trying to help them find the spot to download from. Right now I am lucky to be on 2016 patch for my Java Gui on MacOS - usually I am even further behind!
