Blue Biro's......

"And it was to this planet that unattended biros would make their way, slipping away quietly through wormholes in space to a world where they knew they could enjoy a uniquely biroid lifestyle, responding to highly biro-orientated stimuli, and generally leading the biro equivalent of the good life."

Hmmm.

I am wondering where questions disappear to.... is that down a wormhole as well ? I answered a question yesterday and said I would check out something on my own laptop. Found what I wanted and went back to add that info to the answer but it seems it had quietly melted away. Down some wormhole somewhere I suppose with no chance of any information leaking back out. Even in my 'answered question' list in my account profile. Not returned using searches for my name or some of the text I knew from the question itself.

Has it been deleted I ask myself ? Has it been moderated out of existence ? How does one find out ?? Wouldn't it be nice to be told - perhaps in your notifications ???

Try to find it in your browser cache, then open that link and you will get a message which eventually gives you more detailed information.

I agree that it would be nice to have sometimes some more information, but if all moderated questions (usually FAQs) would still appear in various places visible to anybody then what would be the sense of moderation at all?

And how would you feel if you found them and open it and get the message that it was deleted.

As a moderator I have the opposite situation, I see all those questions in my followed activities and can't differentiate which one is already been taken care and which not. E.g. the tag SAP Forum has probably 500 questions, but 0 have survived as none had to do with this event about which this tag is.

Maybe a small notification"Question hided by moderator" to all who had already participated could be a solution.

Moderation happened in the past and there has not been any notification to the participants either, only to the author and to the person who created the alert.

thanks for the explanation Jurgen,

I think what irked me about this one is that I got back to the hotel and then spent half an hour digging out the answer from my own documentation.....

Hey Richard,

I apologize for this experience.

Do you remember the title of the question?

Was it:

I have a requirement to achieve following layout in smartform .

Or

Dynamic ALV on selection screen ?

Thanks,

Moshe

Hi Moshe,

It was to do with running custom code when a user changed the material in VA01/02.

Is it this one:

https://answers.sap.com/questions/189995/pass-parameter-to-a-an-already-opened-transaction.html?childToView=191577#comment-191577

and this comment:

There is a user exit that is called when the material number changes in the line items display in VA01/2 which will be a better bet. I know it exists because I have used it before, and for the life of me now I can't find it. However, that would be a better bet than anything above I think. Unfortunately though I'm at work and running short of time, but that is the direction I would go in.If I have chance tonight I will look on my own laptop.Rich

Hi Moshe

Yes. Is it because it's a comment on an answer ??

Yes, but I will ping Audrey to consider adding comments to profile as well.

Now I am really confused. There is already an idea Add list of own comments/discussions in profile, which has status 'Accepted'. Audrey commented on it.

Why there is a need of a reminder?

I am replying to the wrong comment, because the bug for missing reply option is still present.

If memory serves, in the Old SCN, when the reply got moderated together with the question the person replying also got notified. Not 100% sure though, but I vaguely recall getting a "rejected" notification when not specifically my post but the whole thread was deleted.

Nope, I don't think it worked that way. You only got info about your own moderated content. That's why we got some "Where did my reply go?!" questions in the support space and the answer was always "Because you replied to a FAQ and it got deleted.".

Jürgen replied here on New SCN to this question somewhere and wrote the same thing.

OK, maybe I've "misremembered". :) Thanks!

Either you or me. ^^ The old SCN seems so many years ago already, I don't know. *sigh*
