[Status Update] Counting Questions and using the SAP Cloud Platform to check on the Coffee Corner

How are you feeling customers/residents :) of Coffee Corner?

Positive, Negative?

Last time out I was [Status update] Counting Blogs, User Tags and Comments. I have returned (did I mention I'll be back last time) having collected data from "answers.sap.com" using the SAP Cloud Platform. I am testing the data and I have chosen to experiment with the Coffee Corner :). As it does exist in a specific corner of answers.sap.com. With the SAP Cloud Platform and the SAP Search API I can collect various information from the site and extract the timestamps and the text of the discussions. So I ran "Sentiment Analysis" on Coffee Corner, the results as follows. My thanks to the open sap course linked above as I am still learning, so I am open to suggestions as to the best way to do this type of analysis.

Some awards, sorry no prizes, rewards or points :) as it is me testing the data, but I am happy so far that the data holds up and no specific problems.

Who makes the most coffee? (who starts the most threads here on coffee corner)

That record goes to Steffi

Who took advantage of the free Wifi and free refills around here? The longest life of a thread, from creation date to last update.

That record goes to Steve (Created on Oct 18th 2016 and 3rd March 2017 last update)

1st steve rumsby	http://answers.sap.com/articles/35921/wondering-about-the-best-way-to-encourage-people-t.html	136
2nd jelena perfiljeva	http://answers.sap.com/articles/95677/status-update-ive-had-it-with-these-motherfg-snake.html	98
3rd jelena perfiljeva	http://answers.sap.com/articles/100774/rip-documents.html	66

Getting people to accept answers appears to have struck a chord as Steve's post also generated the most discussion (at least by a simple character count).

1st 45604	http://answers.sap.com/articles/35921/wondering-about-the-best-way-to-encourage-people-t.html	steve.rumsby

I have the stats from answers.sap.com which also includes primary tags. When I create my blog documenting it with the SAP Cloud Platform process I was going to have a look at the sentiment analysis month by month on the "using SAP.com" tag :). The overall the data looks like the table below for totals on top 5 primary tags. It is not official data and difficult for me to match overall totals. For example secondary tags containing "ABAP Development" appear on the topic page "ABAP Development" when filtered for questions. I use the primary tags for analysis. However, I have double checked some of the details and it is all valid right now. Any other ideas for the data then let me know.....

2394	ABAP Development
1523	SAP Business One
1184	SAPUI5
1171	SAP Process Integration
883	MM (Materials Management)

Cheers, I'm off to have a cup of tea now :)

Great to see the old "Status updates" statistics making their way over to the new SCN. Me making the most noise and Steve creating the longest lasting discussions. ^^ Same old, same old. :D

Yep, another case of the obvious stats. :) Nice job though, Robert!

By the way, I still have no idea how to encourage people to close their questions. :(

Hi Jelena,

Yes I agree obvious stats and I like the way the sentiment analysis picked up tags as one of the top topics of coffee corner

Cheers

Fine analysis Robert and what type of tea do you drink? I am partial to real green tea when I have had too much coffee already.

I need a little lemon with my real green tea. And it only makes an appearance towards the end of the day. "Too much coffee" is a status that takes a long time to reach...

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the comment and as to the question, I enjoy a variety of tea. As you mention green tea that does trigger some good memories for me. Reminds me of the time when my daughter was learning and taking part in Japanese tea ceremonies. Good fun to watch but way to formal for me to make a cuppa! So a simple brew of decaf black tea in one cup. However thinking about the process, I will be "formal" and warm the cup before brewing for a couple of minutes and always adding the milk last!

Do you hold a ceremony for your real green tea experience?

Cheers

Mostly I order it when at a restaurant which might have it. Not much ceremony to it. If I am lucky the teapot does not dribble tea all over the table. If I am not, I ask for more napkins!

Cheers, Mike

Hi Richard,

I wanted the stats I collected to determine what your sentiments are here on coffee corner :0

Sadly I could not extract the exact details, still going to try though :)

Cheers
