    Hi, Roberto:

I'm accustomed to having discussions about the evils of marketing content in the community, but I'm afraid that this one went over my head. Are you saying that the promotion of an SAP Mentors call is marketing? I'm not making the connection to a HANA vs Oracle discussion here.

Maybe it's the images that are throwing me off...

Happy to address any concerns...although if this is meant to trigger a conversation about database technologies, I can graciously remove myself and let the members chat about the topic.

    Best regards,

My concern is that the TV spot suggests that the man on the right is more real (in a IT environment) than the one on the left. What presupposes such an image? and who realizes it is paid to have this kind of ideas?

Ok money needs this kind of images butGood for a Shampoo TV spot :)

I can't say the same thing for Oralce Spot

Jerry what do you think about this Conversation about Oracle VS HANA performance

I'd like to make it clear .

      Regards

I'm still confused... If you were just making fun about the pictures then we've been doing this for a long time already. And yes, SAP's stock photos are seldomly a reflection of real IT environment. Or, in this case, any business environment - the dude looks like he just came from a gym (where he was stuck for 2 days with no razor), in stark contrast to his female coworkers.

If you're suggesting Oracle has better stock photos then here is Exhibit A (source - Oracle Product page), apparently ungroomed facial hair is the thing these days:

But you lost me completely with Oracle vs. HANA, sorry. What is that about? And how is this related to the photos?

          :D

Dan Balzarian teaches that money makes money. :D I mean that HANA wasn't a choice but the only choice and now we're dealing with something that wants to be beautiful and glamorous as the others and probably it would be in the future.

But nowdays, How much do we know about HANA? Enough to say that We felt the lack of a new database system and now we eat this soup or we can get out of the window.

We know: It's a typical economic phase for an industry. New Products. Change. TV Spot. Money.

And by the way I think that these five entrepreneurs would not be so happy about this marketing :)

Anyway... The show must go on :D

OK, I give up. Not sure if it's a "lost in translation" issue but this just reads like a random collection of incoherent thoughts, sorry.

            • Mar 02, 2017 at 04:17 PM

Well , when two waves have identical wavelenghts and they are constant we talk about coherence . (better) But coherence is only a string between two weak thoughts :)

              Anyway probably I've missed correct tag...again :D
