anyone else in this corner?
I'm here (11 hours later). What shall we discuss? I'm about to log off for the day, so I won't have a cup of coffee again until tomorrow morning. I'll be curious to see who else drops by in the meantime while I'm fast asleep...
Hi Audrey,
i take it that time zone differences and the existence of probably many other platforms make it hard to have any discussion as it is hardly at the same same time and place. indeed, coffee is a morning thing, so at night i could only think of lemonade this time of year.
for starters, we could discuss weather and its patterns.
cheers,
greg
Good morning world,
whenever that is. Yes, this corner grew quite silent, lately. If we choose a topic to discuss here, it should be somehow funny. Serious stuff is ill accepted.
Thought of telling a joke. But unfortunately most good jokes violate the rules of conduct. Too bad. So we are stuck to stuff like: Walks a horse into a bar. Asks the bartender: Why the long face?
Can you do better?
Hi Manfred,
started writing my response and got pulled away into the day's tasks but did want to respond.
jokes are fine when everyone is laughing, but we could also discuss absurdities of the modern life, e.g. this: https://twitter.com/Merzmensch/status/1283419366143524866
we've been always so close to answer our own questions, but have we really?
cheers,
greg
Hi Gregory,
absurdities of daily life make the best jokes. However telling about those suffers the same fate as normal jokes: In a Forum it is impossible to have 'everyone laughing'. You simply don't know who everyone is. If you point out an absurdity the person responsible for it could read, too.
What are most jokes about? Cliches? Exaggeration? Ambiguity of words? Indecent stuff?
It's hard not to hurt anyone if the whole world could listen. Even 'Doctor! Doctor! The hypochndriac of room 14 died last night!' 'Woah, now he has really gone too far!' could hurt real hypochondriacs.
I would be surprised to read here good jokes that has everyone laughing. Keep in mind that some people are totally free of any humor.
cheers,
Manfred
OK, I'll try a joke. Hopefully this one won't offend anyone:
Which website did Chewbacca create to share Empire secrets?
Wookieleaks. :-D
I am back on SAP Community coffee corner after my vacation with a cup (ehm, actually a pot) of tea and happy to step in in any discussion - maybe about holidays? :-)
Jokes are fine, too Manfred Klein ;-)
No holidays here in the US
I just returned from the doctor's office; they wouldn't see me if I had traveled in the past 14 days.
I haven't been on a plane since February
Pot of tea sounds good
What did you do on your vacation, Svea Becker ?
Are you okay, Tammy Powlas (because you returned from the doctor's) ?
We went to Austria, close to the city Graz, where my brother in law has a cottage on a hill. We did some sports and hiking with the kids. And some chill time, e.g. I read three books in two weeks. And it was nice to see something else then "home" where we spent the last three month twenty-four-seven ;-)
Four community members have responded, so we have a semblance of a cafe - a polite virtual conversation.
not really a discussion, but we are not after rants, complaints, and jibes here, imho.
that's not too bad for dog days of summer, for those in the northern hemisphere.
I've been lurking here, just haven't felt like I have anything to contribute to the discussion right now. That is, unless you want to hear me rant about what an a** my ex-son-in-law is....

I don't check in here to often anymore. Once a week maybe. Sometimes once every two weeks. I have my niche shop down the corner... "The Quality Architectural Shop" on the corner of "New User Promenade" and the "Too Lazy to Research Drive". I'm sure you are all familiar with those roads. It's not far from Interstate 666, Otherwise known as the "Highway to He..."
I just pop in once in awhile to see if anything new is brewing. Usually when I'm low on K-cups in the shop.
I can only contribute dog pics and vids. Yes.. I can talk dog... Would bore you to death. But the good thing is I can drop you off on Interstate 666 for pick-up on the way back to the shop.

Sounds like you have lot's of absurdities to share. Why not a best of fails? Anonymous, of course. 'All characters are pure fiction...'
I get my forums confused sometimes.. but we did have a thread similar to that idea once before. But I think it was in the separate, SAPFANS group. There was even a virtual award each year for the worse post with ongoing nominations throughout the year. While being a bit mean, it did kind of serve its purpose in that I think some people would do more research and experiments before posting so as to not wind up being nomoniated.
I think it was tried once here a long time ago and SAP nixed it I think. Too much changed people could be identified and singled out.
Which is probably appropriate. Sometimes I think some of these things are related to language barriers sometimes.
Also, most of my fails would probably be in the QM world and its a niche area compared to SD or FI and few people would get it. It would be like me trying to appreciate a discussion in ABAP on implicit vs. explicit declaration of variables.

Yes, I'm here.
