Making a virtual wish... Security Wifi Camera

So at risk of the other thread getting overloaded and not being able to see it I thought I would try my wish in its own thread.

I currently have Arlo cameras, used mainly to watch the cats when we are not at home. These are older ones and I’m considering upgrading but was wondering to what?

My wish is for advice and recommendations on cameras suited to watch your pets when you are not at home?

Here's a live feed of my dog...Not sure of the technology though.

Pretty much what we use the cameras for - but not sure the ones I have are the best so hence the request for what others might use. I know Lucia Subatin as some and auto feeders....

Yeps! I'm all about the cats being cared for while I'm away. The longest they've been on their own was 12 days before I called in the nanny to replenish their automatic feeder (Petsmart), empty the automatic litter collector (Nature's Miracle - I would not buy it again) and fill up the two water tanks. I had an automatic dripping thingy to wet the food for one of my cats while he was recovering from dental surgery, now that's watering plants.

I still watch them pretty much every day when I'm travelling. I moved to Nest cameras from D-Links due to security concerns and instability of the connection. They came with the ML service that recognizes people (vs cats or general motion) when I'm away, so I get a notification if a human comes in or the camera is disconnected. Night vision works surprisingly well too.

Being able to dismount the cameras easily for when I am back at home was a must for me and these have magnets, though you can configure them to shut off automatically when you are back home (your phone needs to send your location).

My Cozmo robot can also follow my cats , and somehow they understand they shouldn't attack it. You can always attach a little feather to it ;)

Ok that there sounds like the 101 guide to how to do it! Are the cameras battery operated or cable, I just got the notice I have to change batteries in one of mine this morning.
