Hi Simon, will we continue getting the great support via https://github.com/SAPDocuments/Tutorials from Thomas and the rest of the Advocacy team in 2020?

    1. Are there any plans for some ABAP outreach, in particular targeting mature ABAP developers and helping them evolve?

    2. Does SAP plan (and if so then how exactly) to support "Clean ABAP" movement? Will we see standard code that follows Clean ABAP guidelines (e.g. no more Hungarian notation :) )?

    3. Just like SAP has product roadmaps, I feel it would be beneficial to develop the "skill roadmap" for ABAPers who plan to stay within SAP ecosystem and potential newcomers.

There seems to be a lot of isolated advocacy for specific "pet tech" that one or the other person feels especially passionate about. Nothing wrong with that but, unfortunately, this is not very helpful for someone who is trying to figure out what specific skills to learn to reach certain career goals (or even simply to remain marketable and employed). It would be beneficial to have a better high-level overview of what is going where and what specific skills are "must have" vs "nice to have" depending on what one would want to specialize in. There are many things to learn these days and it's important to have good guidance what can provide best ROI on our time and effort.

Thank you and I envy your opportunity to speak to such esteemed guest. :)

it was a nice podcast and a timely overview of the SAP development strategy. with Thomas at the helm, the company have a truly dedicated externally facing development team (an octet?) that don't shy away from helping along when we get stuck while exploring the latest technologies that may or may not end up in the official SAP licensed offerings.
