What's in YOUR badge showcase?

As many of you know, I've been involved with the creation of missions and badges in the SAP Community (and before that SCN) for a long time now. Together with Caroleigh Deneen, we strive to bring you interesting missions to achieve and cool badges to earn to go with them.

Now that the SCN achievements have been better integrated in members' current SAP Community reputation, I've been watching to see which badges people are putting into their badge showcases, and it's pretty interesting.

So, here's my current showcase:

But I am torn. While I focused on putting in the badges I'm probably most proud of achieving or that are ones I most recently earned, I was also tempted to put in badges that I think look cool, like the Rock Star Blogger badge:

And now I'm curious: what did you put into your badge showcase, and why?

    I prefer the following:

Unfortunately, we don't have something like "Tag Leader" now...

Thanks for sharing your showcase, Vadim. Bringing expertise elements back to community is something that we are working on in our reputation and recognition efforts here.

To my mind, the main issue today is that we don't have any reputation badge related to specific experience in SAP products...

The important ones... Care give and do abap

Susan Keohan will be happy to see that you've chosen I Care as one of your showcase badges!

We should do that again. Was great fun and something that make the world a little better.

Steffi Warnecke Florian Henninger Audrey Stevenson The SCN Community raised over 15K through those missions for Doctors Without Borders. Most of it was small dollar amounts, but it added up to a lot!

Personally, I have Craig Cmehil and Marilyn Pratt (among others) to thank for opening my eyes to the incredible work this organization does.

Now I'll go back to searching how to change my badges to show 'I care' - Good memories!

Not sure I could pull off another 24 hour live webcast marathon again - 2 I think was my lifetime limit although 3 does sound interesting...

            • Apr 11 at 02:43 PM

Was it only 2 that you did?

It was fun - and watching you get a little more ragged was only a little part of it. ;-)

I'm sure you still have the agenda, but for those who need a dose of nostalgia - here you go. Imagine what the topics would be in 2019...

My selection is a mix of "proud of" and "cool"/"statement", too. :)

Mine is very similar to Vadim's. It's all about presenting an image of, "Hey, I know what I'm talking about and I've been doing this for a while".

This is a tough call! I try to focus on things that show a progression through the years, with an emphasis on more recent years, but inevitably that means that some cool things from earlier years have to "drop off." So, here's where it sits currently:

Hi Audrey - I've chosen the legacy points badge, the SCN to SAP Community transition period with bug sticker and TechEd, followed by the citizenship award and MoM as additional legacy tributes. Since Monday April 15th is my final day at SAP, this profile will be frozen in time, and I will use my personal linked account for future community endeavors. Plenty of memories all bundled up within a carefully chosen handful of stickers.

Jeremy, I'm truly sad to see you go, and I wish you all the best in your next endeavor, whatever it may be. I appreciate all the contributions you've made to this community, and I hope you'll still be active moving forward with your other account.

    • Apr 11 at 08:43 PM

Sorry to learn you were caught up in all that, Jeremy, and as Audrey said, here's hoping we'll still see you around here.

It's interesting that Topic Leader didn't make it into your showcase, but Influencer did. Both, of course, important badges. Thanks for sharing, Craig. I really do like seeing how others are making these decisions of how to represent their achievements here.

If anyone looks at the QM tags at all, it's clear very quickly I'm very active there. It's a smaller niche area than say ABAP or MM. So being a topic leader there isn't really that significant, (IMHO). Especially since that is under the previous platform.. oranges/apples/pears..... And there were no topic leaders assigned for 2017/2018 (that I'm aware of). So the last one is 2016... the older they get, the less significant they are. For new people coming in, that seems like ancient history, Influencer has no date attached to it.

I got a new badge today so I updated my showcase. I added the newly earned skillful solver, and replaced one with a super moderator badge. So new people know that I was once one of those when I go off on them for not searching, asking interview questions, asking extremely basic questions, posting ads, including their emails in posting, reprinting info without attribution, etc. etc. Plus I think its a way cooler badge.

I chose my collection based on the fact the site competitions were the reason I got into Lumira, SAPCP (coding) and provided a motivation to contribute.

I like the "I was here" hand badge as I it states I am here contributing. However, I have to admit the recent SAP changes make me doubt I will be around - if SAP dont value what is within then there seems less point and motivation to continue.

That's one of the ways we hope to use missions moving forward again: to bring new things to the attention to folks who otherwise might not notice them, given the size of this community. I do hope you'll wind up sticking around, because I'd like to see how your badge showcase (and those of others) evolves over time!

Didn't even know I had a showcase o_O. Doesn't matter much, though, because mine is much less interesting than that of Colleen Hebbert :

Oh Lukas Weigelt - you have made my night. The memories

My Showcase options were a bit lacking on my new account. It's a reminder at how little I've been active in community. I like your badged much more :)

Audrey it is fantastic seeing these badges come back and the renewed life in them. I love this thread to see so many established community members proud of their contributions to community

Thank you to you, Caroleigh and the rest of the team for making this all happen.

    • Apr 15 at 03:55 PM

I'm hoping more and more folks will share their badge showcase here. @mentioning others is bringing some notable veteran members to this thread, and I love seeing that. I'm also interested in the badge showcases of newer members as well, though. Come one, come all!

  • Apr 16 at 09:35 AM

WOW! It is so impressive to see all these experts around here with so many great badges. Awesome. As I am only active since a few years I couldn't share such a variety of badges like you all have. But I focus on what might be important for my community environment (e.g. 'SAP Inside Track' badges or 'Tour the SAP Community') and what I am proud of (e.g. the blogger badge).

    Thanks for sharing, Audrey Stevenson.
