It is not always that bad... today I actually got help from the service desk.

For me, the annoying part is when you get contacted by a 'friendly' bot to solve your problem. I know what is the problem already... just give me that elevated command prompt :)

I'm sure annoyance goes both ways when IT people have to deal with clueless tier 1 support reading from the script.

Tier 1: "Locate Start button in the bottom left ...."
Me: "Yeah, yeah, I'm already in the command prompt".
Tier 1: [sparkles, fuse blown, resetting] "Locate Start button ...."

Veselina - good thing you called it the service desk and not the helpdesk - my friends and I used to call it the irony desk as they were rarely helpful

But then I really shouldn't insult support much as most do an awesome job considering they have to generalise over a heap of topics

I also had no idea this brand existed before we moved to the US in 2000. But now it somehow supersedes the planet reference in my brain. :)

I was referring to Saturn V - the rocket that took men to the moon. Not the planet.

Yeah, needful is the more mainstream term. Wasn't a typo, though, I've actually seen "kindly do the needy" a couple of times which is even more hilarious, if also a wee bit disturbing :-P

No, I meant the IT people that use my systems, making them my users. Suddenly they forget how annoyed they get about their users throwing vage error summaries at them and just go DAU. -.-

"It's not working." ... You don't say! What exactly is not working?!
