[Status update] Good morning, fellow SCNers... rise and shine, a new week is upon us!

My coffee mug is already empty again. I hope, yours is at least half full. ;)

Woa, learned something new already. Looks like you can finally filter the Q&A list by your followed tags!

This also means you can finally see at one place which tags you are following in the first place. ^^

Stumbled upon this, when I roamed the Idea Place to see what's new there.

Unfortunately filtering is currently working for the single tag at a time only.

      • Jan 23, 2017 at 10:30 AM

        Yeah, buuut it's a start. :)

Sadly there is no "unfilter", you need to click on the "Questions & Answers" link in the breadcrumbs so get back to the whole list again. And they should probably hide the "Coffee Corner" tag, because you can't create questions with it anyway.

Currently it's not a filtering by tag, just a collection of links to the followed tags...

          • Jan 23, 2017 at 10:45 AM

Well, you can click on another tag in the selection and it will show its content, so it is a kind of filter. My glas is half full here.

I can do the same with bookmarks in the browser...

But currently I am following number of tags and have to open number of tabs in the browser (one tab for one tag) with a filter I want to see all in one page.

And another one: Looks like the notifications are finally auto-marked as read, if you follow the link to the content from the stream. They are not, though, if you go directly to the new content. At least this was the case for me just now.

Adding link to this thread for reference on the latest feature updates. Also some Twitter chatter on the whole mark as read feature.

These days I finish my coffee before visiting SCN. Goodness forbid I start posting something while under-caffeinated (PWU).

Would very much prefer to have some major bugs fixed. Marking as read is a non-issue for me and I agree that filters add no value because they are not multiple choice. I already saved all the bookmarks, it's pretty much the same.

Ugh, this thing is going to give me ulcer...

[Edit] P.S. In Notifications, did right-click -> open in new tab and, of course, "auto mark as read" did not work.

"In Notifications, did right-click -> open in new tab and, of course, "auto mark as read" did not work." - for sure :) Mark as read here is not linked to opening the page, it's linked to click event on the link (and it make "auto mark as read" useless in most cases)!

Which you wouldn't normally do, if they used a split-screen layout.

It is ironic, that FIORI has it, several years before that SCN designers got this one right, but a site, which aims to be mobile- and user-friendly does not make use of it...

      • Jan 26, 2017 at 08:27 AM

True, "right-click -> open in new tab" doesn't work (I use Chrome), but [CTRL]+Click does work! (Opening the link in a new tab AND marking the item as read)

->so I'm actually happy with this improvement!

    • Jan 24, 2017 at 08:18 AM

Yeah, I know. So much still needs fixing. I just hope a lot of that is coming our way in the next weeks, because the development team had so much time now to change stuff. Something needs to change and I feel like time is running out for this new SCN. :/

I already got asked why I don't participate so much anymore. So... yeah. Why would that be?

Thanks for confirming that I'm not the only one using the click+wheel or right click to leverage new tabs or windows from the feed items. Either that or the 3 people following me on Twitter ^^ might think I'm crazy...just the facts...

      • Jan 24, 2017 at 12:46 PM

I prefer to use right click + drag using QuickDrag plugin for Firefox to open the link in a new tab...
